Why I'm so Lucky!

I'm such a lucky person, ok maybe not when it comes to playing the slots, but I am when it comes to having a happy and wonderful life. I have so much to be thankful for- my good health, an awesome husband, and a wonderful family (not to mention a great father-in-law named Tom who lives in Allentown Pa). Tom, my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family! I love and miss you guys!!!! Can't wait to see you all again.

Life has been so good to me thus far and I can't wait to see what the good Lord has in store for me in the future.

This past weekend we celebrated my sister Leslie's birthday. That Leslie, she and I have been sisters for like 35 years (oops sorry sis) and I can't believe it, but as the years pass by we become closer than we were the year before.  She is without a doubt the best friend a girl could ever have and I'm so lucky to have her in my life!! We took Leslie out for a nice birthday dinner and then we headed back to her house to visit and watch the sunset. I added a few pictures we took that evening, it was a great day!

The 4th of July is coming up and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I'm guessing we might cookout and watch the fireworks. Hopefully it won't be too hot, but that's probably wishful thinking. Oh well, no harm in hoping......

It's Father's Day..........

Today is Father's Day and I can't help to think about being able to celebrate this day with Chris in the future when he himself becomes a "Father" to our child. There is just so much to look forward to someday! I think he's going to be an awesome father!

I just want to say "Thank You" to all the wonderful men in my life, who love us! We are so blessed to have you all in our lives.

Only 14 days until we take our 1st class........I'm excited, can you tell? We received a packet in the mail and have some paper work to fill out before the class.  Basically it's just paperwork regarding our work history, background checks, etc. We had a nice relaxing weekend spending time with Leslie, Bryan, and Zay. I can't wait until one day little Zay has a little cousin to play with.......again so many things I'm looking forward to.

Chapter One

Our story…….I’ve been married to my husband, best friend, and soul mate Christopher for about 7 1/2 years now. Although October 5th will be our 8 year anniversary, we have been together as a couple for 18 years. Being a married couple has been a lot of fun and has brought a lot of joy into our lives……..but deep down inside we have both felt like something was missing. What is missing we've asked ourselves. Is it that  smile that melts your heart or a beautiful laugh that brings you happiness.....maybe it's that little hand that pulls you close or that hug that holds you tight. We've thought about it and realized that what we are missing is a child to share our wonderful lives with.  So, we’ve decided to pursue adoption!!!! Our dream is to provide a good, stable, happy life for a child who so desperately needs a family. We both have wonderful families and friends who we know will welcome this new addition into our lives.

Since this revelation, we have attended a meeting to learn about the adoption process though CPS. On Tuesday May 11th, we received a call from an Adoption Supervisor who confirmed that they received our adoption application and that we were eligible to sign up for adoption training classes. Our first scheduled training class is on July 7th. We will attend classes through September 9th.

I don't think any of this would be possible if it wasn't for my best friend/sister Leslie, my brother-in-law Bryan, and my beautiful nephew Isaiah. They have proved to Chris and I that dreams of having a wonderful, happy family and building a life with a child can come true if you put in the hard work and never give up. Thank you guys so much for sharing your wonderful son with us and for giving us a glimpse of what we can have too.....I love ya'll sooo much.

Chris and I are very excited about this new path and can't wait to see what God has in store for us.
