The 1st Training Class Was...........

Awesome!!!!!!! Thursday was a rainy day here in Austin, but a little rain wasn't going to put a damper on this special day for us. The building the class is held in is literally 6 minutes from our house, so we didn't have to worry about getting caught in traffic either (Yippy- now that's lucky). We made it right on time and were both a little nervous but very excited to be there. The first few minutes of class was fun, we had to write our names on construction paper and draw things we were interested in. Chris's baseball looked like a soccer ball and my flowers looked like lollipops- oh well we enjoyed laughing at each other's drawings. We met several other couples in the class who are also in the process of becoming certified to adopt a child. The trainer explained what the next 9 weeks of classes will cover. There is alot to learn........but I have faith that Chris and I can do it. We saw a video called "Making a Difference," and it humbled me to know that we will be doing exactly that- making a World of Difference to a child by providing him with a family and home!!!! I'm really greatful to God that he has given us the opportunity and good fortune to do this.

I've begun to pray every night for "our" child. I don't know when we will meet him, but I have a special place in my heart that is filled with LOVE just for him. This is a special love that I've never felt before, it's the unconditional love a soon to be mom has for the child she has yet to meet. Oh, how I can't wait for that day to come.

Oh yeah, Chris also won this blanket during class. It's cool and will be nice to sit on the next time we go to a Round Rock Express game.
