Excitement is in the Air......

I can’t believe it, but this Thursday will be our 1st adoption training class!!! Wow, how the time has flown by. I’m feeling so many different things right now: I’m feeling EXciTed, hAPpY, neRVouS, but most importantly I feel “CERTAIN” that Chris and I are on the right path to finding our child! I know we have many things to learn as parents-to-be and that this life changing event will bring many twists and turns but in the end we will find a little boy who so desperately needs us just as much as we need him!!!

I would like to thank God and our families for teaching us how to be strong, caring, loving, compasionate individuals- without you all this would not be possible.

I want to thank my mom (Ann) for being such a constant example of what it takes to be a great “Mom” (even though the word “Great” doesn’t even begin to explain how much she means to me and what she has taught me). For mother’s day this year, she made me a card that said “Aunts are Mom’s Also" and she wrote a poem in the card about how she sees "Mother" like qualities in me. The poem was beautiful and really touched my heart! My mom is sooooo special to me and she really knows how to make me feel good about myself. My sisters Rita, Sonya, and Leslie have also served as awesome examples to me of what it takes to be a good mother. Just today Leslie told me “You don’t know it yet, but you’re already a great mom because your heart is so big, everything else just falls into place.”

So I think to myself..............if they can believe in me.......then I can believe in me.
